Microsoft has released the Beta version of Server 2012 Essentials, designed for networks with up to 25 Users. It is aimed at businesses with little or no IT staff on site. This product is a direct replacement for Small Business Server 2011 Essentials.
You can try it out here.
Instead of administering and maintaining an Email Server on the premises, organisations can take advantage of integrated messaging via Office 365. Additionally, an Online Backup Solution is also in the Beta test stage.
SBS 2011 Essentials retailed at around £300 (plus server hardware) for 25 users, so this should be a similar price. Office 365 and Windows Online Backup are both subscription services, so be careful to factor this in to your system costs. Pricing for the Online Backup Solution is not yet available, but Office 365 starts at £6 per user per month (depending upon the level of service required).
