SolidWorks – Resetting the Current User Profile

Occasionally the SolidWorks profile of a particular user can get corrupted – resulting in painfully slow loading times for Assembly Drawings (particularly across a network).

To reset the profile for the current user within Windows XP:
[1] Click Start => Run and type in “regedit.”
[2] Expand “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SolidWorks”. Right-click on it and then rename to “solidworkscorrupt”.
[3] Close the registry editor and re-start SolidWorks. All the settings should have reverted to their “factory default”.
